Dr. Jonathan Volk is the Director for Advanced Materials Applications for Starlab Space, a joint venture of Voyager Technologies and other international partners, which is developing Starlab, a next-generation commercial space station. His main focus is driving utilization of the Starlab platform, in the areas of advanced materials & physical sciences research, and in-space manufacturing. He has more than 12 years of experience supporting these strategic areas, which included working for the International Space Station (ISS) U.S. National Laboratory. Jonathan is one of the founding board members of the Keystone Space Collaborative, a non-profit ‘Space Ecosystem’ that brought together industry, academia, and government to generate interest in space research, technology development and commercialization, serving the tri-state region of Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia. Jonathan received a B.S. from the University of Notre Dame and a Ph.D. from the University of Florida, both in Chemical Engineering.
